The METHOD made even better!
The Method X comes with a more powerful chamber heater in order to print with ABS material. The chamber can now reach temperatures of 100 degrees celsius. Accordingly, the wattage requirements have been increased from a 400 Watt maximum to a 800 Watt maximum to support the more powerful heater.
As a result, there is an increase in power draw from the Method X, when compared to the Method.
While the Method’s build-chamber can heat up to 60 degrees Celsius, the Method X will heat to 100 degrees celsius, to properly print with ABS.
When removing the build plate to detach a finished print, it is recommended to open the chamber door and let the plate cool down before handling: or use heat resistant gloves.
When printing with multiple different types of materials, Makerbot recommends that you have a dedicated Extruder for each material you print with.
This will ensure that print quality and extruder lifespan can be maintained properly throughout the life-cycle of your Method X.

FUNCTIONAL PART TESTING
ACCELERATED CONCEPT DESIGN
Developed from the ground up leveraging industry-leading Stratasys® patents including a heated build chamber, precision dissolvable supports, and dry-sealed material bays.
A structurally-optimized metal frame runs the full length of the body to offset flexing. Less flexing means more consistent prints with better part accuracy and fewer failures.
Dry-Sealed Material Bays form a near-perfect seal to keep material free of damaging humidity. A suite of built-in sensors provides that your material is stored in its optimal environment—a feature previously only available in industrial 3D printers.
PRECISION MATERIALS: Extensively tested by MakerBot for the highest reliability and measurably accurate parts.
SPECIALTY MATERIALS: For users looking for special materials with advanced properties to push the limits of what's possible.
Control the temperature and quality of every layer - not just the first. While heated build plates are effective at reducing warping, Method takes this further with full active heat immersion during the entire duration of the print.
The Dual Performance Extruder system is built from the ground up to accelerate print times and provide dimensional accuracy across every part.
Superior surface finish and unrestricted geometric freedom are paramount to delivering high quality printed parts. MakerBot Water-Soluble PVA ensures fast and effortless support removal without compromising part design or dimensional accuracy.
