Dagu - Wild Thumper 4WD with Wheel Encoders (75:1 Gearboxes)
This 4WD is the little brother of the 6WD Wild Thumper:
It takes almost no time to go from un-boxing to rolling chassis, but it's also
ready to be expanded on and makes great base for an Advanced Robot.
The chassis has wicked spiked 120mm diameter wheels and an anodized aluminium chassis made from 2mm thick plate.
The chassis has 4mm diameter holes punched every 10mm to allow easy mounting of PCBs, servos etc. All nuts, bolts and screws are stainless steel. Brass fittings and suspension springs are nickel plated.
Please note: the WildTumper Arduino DC Motor Controller (the circuit board
shown above) is
separately available. You may also use your own controller as well to drive this
robot.
The chassis’ aluminum plate has 4mm holes spaced every 10mm, providing plenty of options when it comes to mounting your control electronics, sensors, and additional hardware. A compartment in the chassis has been designed to hold 7.2V sub-C battery packs (not included) that are commonly used in RC cars. Two such battery packs can fit in the compartment. The interior of the chassis also features convenient screw terminals for connecting your battery and motor driver leads. The motor leads are pre-connected to these screw terminals.
