The Carbide 3D Probe is an active probe meant to assist in finding the edges, or datums of your part. The Probe is an active probe, and when contacted to ground, communicates its position to Carbide Motion.



NOTE: In order to use the Probe, you must upgrade to Carbide Motion v4. For more information about that, see this article - Updating to GRBL v1.1

Usage

  1. Before using the probe, it is good practice to test the clip against the Probe. If everything is working then the light on the Probe will turn from green to red.
  2. After confirming the Probe is operational, attach the clip to the endmill as shown in the image above.
  3. Position the endmill in the appropriate location relative to what type of probing operation you are going to perform.


NOTE: A clearance of 12mm (maximum) or less is required between the material and the cutter
